GKS Quickborn

It was time for the first match of the years and first match on the calendar is in Quickborn in Germany
The match is called the GKS Quickborn Match, and is the locale club master.
This time I had 3 NROI with me from Denmark, who would like to go further into the system of IROA, and then it's just the right place to work. It is Christian Ditlev, Claus Henneberg and Ulrik Saxhøj. The actual match was held by the older State Officer Siegfried Moseleit and RM Jürgen Tegge and Uli Henke, the best team in IPSC: 0))
It was also the first Level III match with the new rule in Production.

We arrived in Quickborn 4:30 pm.

We went directly to the shooting range only 10 minuts from the hotel, to see if they still needed help from the strong Danish RO team they told the 3 NROI they will work on the 2x 25 meter range and I will be working on the 100 meter cold range, Friday it was -10 degrees, but Saturday and Sunday was ok 0 degrees, cold but ok. After we finished helping, we took off back to the hotel for check in, then to Familiar supermarket and bought some Red Bull, then we went to the Italian Restaurant and got some nice steak with truffles. When we was eating around 10 Hells Angels walk in and got a private room for eating, people was looking, but those people are nice I had lot of them in my restaurant in Denmark and no problem.

Then early to be, have to be ready for 2 days hard working, which proved to be quite affordable

Christian Ditlev, Claus Henneberg and Ulrik Saxhøj you can be pround of yourself

Saturday up at 08:00am and got a good breakfast, was on the shooting range 09:00 am, the first shot at 10:30, so there was lot of time to go true your stage.

There was only 65 shooter this time and its probably something to do with the weather because there was lot´s of snow, there was so much snow so we have to push Clauses car all the time.

The shooter they was divided into 4 squad, and the match was with 8 stages, on the 2 x 25 meter range they had 2 stage each on Saturday and one each on Sunday and I had one on Saturday and one Sunday, so the shooter shot one 3 stage then we build new stage on the 25 meter range and they will shoot one more stage, then build again for Sunday, but we was in so good time so we took the first squad for Sunday so we will be able to sleep for half hours more :0)).

The road to the shooting range, Sunday morning

Saturday up at 08:00am and got a good breakfast, was on the shooting range 09:00 am, the first shot at 10:30, so there was lot of time to go true your stage.

There was only 65 shooter this time and its probably something to do with the weather because there was lot´s of snow, there was so much snow so we have to push Clauses car all the time.

My first stage was a long course 31 rounds, 14 target and 3 poppers, I had the pleasure to work with two Swedish NROI Tomas Hellstroem and Ola Dahlbaeck, and two German NROI Norbert Frindt and the funny Raffaele Tagliamonte, we had a good team.

I unfortunately had to put one shooter into open divisions since his standard gun could not fit into the box, a glock with to long magazine, I am a good glock spotter :0))he understood it well so no problem. We finish by 6:45pm and went directly to the Italian restaurant again, and this time was a pasta night for us and it was also ok. In the restaurant was all the Danish shooter Peter Schieck, Lars Hagemann, Frants Pedersen, and shooter from Norway, Odd Strengenes, Even Skaarer and Hans Petter Kvarsnes, from Sweden my two NROI and Mats Bäckstöm. Johan Hansen and Marianne.

Sunday we started at 9:30 with the first squad, on my stage we only have to finish 3 squad and we run them in 15 to 20 minutes with around 16 shooter pr squad, so we finish early, today we had a problem with one shooter about scoring a target, he thought there was 2 holes in the target but unfortunately there was only one 1 alpha and one miss, and he would not accept it and did not sign his score sheet, sad.

Otherwise everything went really well and all the RO did a great job, thanks to the whole team.

Also the 3 NROI from Denmark did a great job, they like to come back again, and the RM told them they are more than welcome, so I’m proud to send our NROI to a match outside Denmark and get the message they are doing very well

It was also the first level II match with the new production rules, where the shooter´s only are allowed to have 15 rounds in the magazine.

I was a little skeptical at first, especially if you have been reading the 23 pages discussions on the Global Village. But everything went fine no problem what so ever, and shooters understood it and was very helpful, they even came to the line and told us I’m shooting production you like to see my magazine, so we did not have any problem, so I hope all the talking will go away and there will be no problem, although I heard from some shooter how to cheat, but then we will just keep an eye on them: 0))

After the match and after we clean up all the stage, there was an Award Ceremony and raffle where I got a bottler of champagne and a cooler.

Congratulations to the two Danish shooter there came home with to PM
