ROOSTER MOUNTAIN NORDIC CAMPIONSHIPS IN OPEN AND PRODUCTION

Rooster Mountain 2008 Nordic Championships in Open and Production is over.

This was my second job as a Range Master this year few week ago was in Lithuania Open

And how did it go well.

After many days building stages with cloudy weather, MD Per Bressendorff, Tim Andersen and I, was ready to go true all 14 states and see if they are ok. Only some small change have to been make, but we all know small thinks went to little more than small, And also after the Pre-match there was some to change.

After that it was time to make the biggest problem this year, to set up all score sheet in IROA order, puhaaaa. That was not easy 1680 score sheet I have to put out in 14 stages and 120 shooter, which took me 9 hours to make. Then the problem comes, some shooter wants to go in same squad, some have to change squad because they share gun. Some shooter have to shoot Sundays stage on the the pre-match day and only shoot Main match on Saturday. Denmark it´s too small for IROA order I think, ipsc shooter from around Scandinavia don’t understand this system, only when they come to a bigger match like STI Open ore world shoot ore even in Lithuania Open we did this and no one complain, so maybe it was first and last time we did it, I have to wait and see, I like the system because it help the shooter and more important the RO it safe lot of time on the stage.

Well Friday was Pre-match. We meet Friday morning 9:30 ready to shoot 10:00 4 squad and we finish 6 pm. It went ok, but it´s not so easy for me to shoot the pre- match because I was also the Range Master, so I get lots of call, Can we do this and can we do that, We have to change this and that, but it was ok, I finish my match with 56, 10 % and for the Ro it went out with 73, 52 %.

Saturday was the first day of the main match, 120 shooter, and 7 stages in 7 squad

It was a busy day for me as Range Master more work than last time in Lithuania Open

stage 3 8 classic target and 2 no - shoot START POSITION: Sitting on chair facing up range hands on knees, heels touching leg on front of the chair, feet pointing up range.

PROCEDURE: On signal FOFS. Targets disappear after 4 sec.

We never try fixed time before and I´m glad to have the king of fixed time on that stage it was Kristian Poikonen from Finland

I know some shooter complain there was giving wrong briefing, but later I find out those people there complain was the same shooter there screw up the stage and try to get re- shot. Then there was stage 6 long course with 9 target and 3 popper, 1 target and 2 popper was out in a distance of 40 meters, but it was the first popper 15 meter, there was the problem, there was lot of calibration, and again it was not really the popper problem, more like the shooter there got a

Ammunition problem, when make the calibration I nock it down every time except one time.

Then we got 1 DQ safety angle. We did 3 stages before lunch and 4 stage after lunch, we finish around 5 pm.

We had a good BBQ with whole roasted pork, with salad and potato thanks to Flemming for a nice dinner.

Sunday I arrive 7 am and we had the first shot 8:15am and today was a easy day on the office every think went very well no big problem, only small problem on stage 8. Few scoring problem and 1 DQ gun fall out of the holster. But thanks to RO on the stage Mark Weisinger and My second hand Anders Buchwald did a great job on that stage. I have been knowing Anders for a long time now, and Anders is back in business after a little break and Anders help me true the match first on the registration then he was all over the range to help out small problem on some of the stage, looking out to run the stage more better and Anders know how to do this he have been my teacher for many years now and I’m still learning. We finish all the stage 3:30 pm and price giving started around 5 pm.

All in all a good match thanks to all the shooter and big thanks to all the NROI and the IROA you did a very good job.

Also thanks to all people helping building stages

Special thanks go to our second MD Per Bressendorf, Per have did the last few Rooster Mountain and without Per I cannot see how to make a Rooster Per doing a very very good job thank´s Per.
