Me and Olav Klopfer

After Lithuania Open last year, nice to see Eric, Emil and Emils father again, I miss his Mother, and this time no Vodka hihi.:))

Even you are a top shooter ore just a Dane
you have to be sure not to sweep your self.
Trophy
357 shooter turn up, 330 rounds, 18 stages and a very nice sunny weekend in Phillipsburg Germany.
STI Open is one of if not the best match in Europe, the Range and the stages are so good, the range gets bigger and bigger every year.
The stage design and the construction must have take long time to make a big hand to Herbert from STI team and his building team.
This was my second time to go for STI open, I fly Thursday afternoon and arrive in Frankfurt 4:45 pm. Olav Klopfer from Berlin came to pick me up, Olav have a very nice curser BMW uhaa, what a car and what a speed. We arrive in Phillipsburg around 6pm and went straight to stage 7 to build it up, a very nice long course where you can see target from different position, 14 targets and 4 poppers. We finish around 9:30 pm then it was time for China food, big buffet with lots of nice food. Friday morning 7:30 on the range ready for the prematch, I was in the squad with Olav, Viktor Gkazonis and Vadim Stefanyuk from Russia, we had lots of fun, Vadim had some problem with his gun, very sad to see, my performance on the match was ok if I did dent miss a window with one target and have one PT on the last stage, but I did the match with 55, 13%.
After the match and it was late I came back to my hotel and find lots of people outside waiting for food, and it’s the season for asparagus, so that’s what I got and then some meet with to not very tasty balls look alike not good.
Saturday and Sunday was the main match, I was working on stage 16, medium course 7 targets, 2 plates and some NO shoot, 16 rounds and 80 point. I thought we will have lots of DQ because you have to run back, and be very careful for not sweeping, but luckily we did dent have any DQ, the time plan was tight but in our stage we was 30- 45 minutes ahead all the time, so that’s was good, thanks to the two German NROI good job. I like special the squad list, that’s was really good, each squad list was in a envelope in IROA order, you just open the envelope take out all the score sheet, place them on your clipboard and you are ready to go, when you finish place them in the same envelope, put the time and bring them to stats, and its works, very good job.
The only problem we had on the stage was on Sunday and of course the Danish - Norwegian squad small problem with the plate, but we work it out, and we finish right on time. Stage winner was in Open Saul Kirsch 12, 01, Standard Julian Boit time 13, 89, Production Peter Heller time, 14, 85, Modified Henes Zdenek time 13, 55, Revolver Nemecek Zdenek time 18, 24.
We finish Sunday 4 pm and then we have to wait for the price award and raffle I was lucky I win a Safariland holster and a t-shirt. My plan was to drive with RM Peter Lebens to the airport, and be there around 7:30 pm but he was busy, so I make a deal with Kyrre Lee from Norway, he also had to get the flight almost same time as me, but Kyrre thought his name was in the raffle for the first price a new STI gun, but the name did not come out and we was late, we arrive in the airport 45 min before the flight, but we make it.
Tanks RM Peter Jebens for arrange Olav to pick me up in the airport, and thanks Olav for doing this.
